Moo Four – Further Down The Trumphole
For those of you who haven’t seen/read any of my previous opinion pieces, I want to say a couple of things right off.
1) – I am not in any way a leading business owner/employer, civic leader or any other type of community leader/activist. I’m just an ordinary working stiff like the majority of Americans out there.
2) – I do not identify as either democrat or republican. Further, I don’t like the radical ends of either political ideology. I will admit that the majority (but not all) of my core beliefs tend to lean to the left (some further than others).
3) – I also do not identify with any specific religion. I’m more spiritually than religiously inclined. I dislike all organized religions equally, though I do believe and will fight for other’s rights to believe and worship as they wish. Just don’t try force those beliefs on me or anyone else who doesn’t want them, and keep them the hell out of our public schools.
I was going to try to work gradually from my last Moo post to this one—maybe take some time to explain how and why my outlook changed between then and now—but it’s been almost a year since that post and this one, and the pace of events has made rational discussion with what’s left of *45’s willfully ignorant supporters impossible. One cannot argue with stupid, as the old saying goes.
Everyone on the planet knows about the shit-storm that is going on in the USA right now. Both of the far ends are posting—and railing about—#FAKENEWS—and many other, far more disturbing things. Trolls from both sides are denigrating each other with little to no actual, constructive dialog going on.
I have to admit that I have been, and continue to be, guilty of this myself. It’s very hard not to respond to some of the crazier things that get put up on Twitter (and on Facebook, though I left that platform last summer and do not regret it one bit).
# (Short rant)
Sadly, America is tearing herself apart in real life just as surely as it is on Twitter (and even more so on Facebook). I’ve already mentioned in a previous opinion piece (Moo 1) that I believe the vast majority of eligible voters fall somewhere in the moderate middle of the ideological spectrum (liberal/conservative in a 60/40 split either way). I would really like those of us in that middle to break away from the insanity and try to figure some way out of this mess.
*Note: While I agree with some, maybe even many, of the Progressive policies and goals (Health Care for all, free education, etc.), I think they they should be implemented one at a time, with adequate time to observe and assess the effects of each one before moving on to another. Pushing them en masse to a large percentage of a population not ready for or willing to accept them isn’t a good plan. It’s partly what got us where we are now.
At the risk of alienating some on-the-bubble *45 supporters right off the bat, I will not accept trying to get @realDonaldTrump to come to his senses. That isn’t going to happen and it isn’t an option. It never was. I truly believe that he (*45) is unstable, possibly deranged, and most definitely dangerous to this country and our way of life.
He’s been lying from his very first public appearance in the 70s (probably long before) and continues to do so now. There is plenty of evidence of this on *45’s twitter account but I have no intention of paging through it to find all of his many contradictions. Others have already done so. Repeatedly.
Speaking for myself only, there is no compromise that can include Trump/Pence or any of his advisors or political nominees. They must all be removed from office and/or their respective positions this November and in 2020. Every last one. I would very much like to see real Independents—along with what’s left of the major parties, afterward—involved in the recovery of our freedoms. Not the fake ones from Libertarian or Green Parties, either, but real, actual Independents.
Aside from the fact that he lost the popular vote, I also believe that *45 was fraudulently elected by the Electoral College. That’s an institution that needs some serious reforming, if not outright elimination.
Interference from both foreign entities (Russia, Saudi Arabia …) and domestic agencies and individuals, including but not limited to: James Comey, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Lindsey Graham, Devin Nunes, pretty much ALL of the @GOP (House & Senate) & the above mentioned Trump/Pence, plus shithead Bannon (though he’s becoming more and more irrelevant as he drinks himself to death): has corrupted our election process and we need to right this ship.
While *45 and his enablers continue to relentlessly undermine an honest and straightforward investigation with innumerable and interminable lies and false accusations—which have now descended to trying destroy: the rule of law; our intelligence community; our DOJ; and Mueller himself, among others—Mueller pushes relentlessly onward, ignoring the constant barrage of bullshit coming from DJT, the White House reps, and every last one of his other ass-kissing spokespeople. Thank you, sir.
I also believe that most of the rest of the Grand Obstructionist Party leadership was aware of, and directly involved in this as it was happening. I’d love to help bring about the GOP’s downfall, but they’re doing a damn fine job of it all by themselves.
Screw it, I’ll gladly help all I can, anyway.
And while all of this is going on, the democratic leadership and several other Dem MOCs make bullshit public pronouncements (or offer/sponsor ‘bipartisan’ bills or actions they know damn good and well will never even be seen much less brought up for a vote), threaten toothless investigations, sit on their hands (and their asses), and stage inept demonstrations that accomplish nothing. I am sick to death of this whiny bullshit.
STAND THE FUCK UP, GROW SOME TEETH/BALLS, AND DO SOMETHING!
If you can’t or won’t do that, then sit down, shut up, keep wringing your hands and get the hell out of the way. Real people are trying to do stuff out here.

Now that I’ve got that out of the way (and thanks for putting up with it if you’re still here), I’d like to apologize to any and all of those that my occasional over-reactions on Twitter may have upset or angered. Those were (mostly) angry, heat-of-the-moment responses and I will attempt to be more rational going forward.
It’s a mistake to ignore what’s happening in this country right now. The willfully and purposely stupid people that comprise the majority of *45’s base (what’s left of it) are perfectly happy to watch, and in many cases participate in the destruction of an almost two-hundred-fifty-year-old democracy (democratic republic for the sticklers out there) along with the @GOP (all of them, there are no GOP heroes).
Sadly, the minority party either can’t or won’t do anything tangible to stop it. Real people really are frightened, but, dammit, we’re the only ones who can fix this. It’s up to us to help restore all the things we’re losing every damn day, and while I don’t like saying this, for now our only chance is to #VoteBlue in November. Once the shit-stain that is the @GOP has been removed we can address the corruption in the Democratic Party—and it is there.
So, register to vote if you haven’t already, check to make sure you’re still registered if you have, and get the hell out there and vote these fucks out in November.
Oh yes—feel free to disagree with me. You have that right.
*Note – If anyone publicly identified here wants those things (tweets) removed, let me know. It will be done ASAP.
